About Two Wings
“Every bird has two wings: Hope and Courage. Where our clients bring the courage we provide the hope they need to soar…”
Rescued… Now What?
Being rescued from victimization is the vital first step towards recovery from sex trafficking. But what happens next? Unfortunately, over time, far too many survivors are pulled back into “the life”, often due to economic desperation. Without the skills or know-how to support themselves in today’s global economy, they see no other option.
Survivors need hope – and they also need tools, guidance and direction if they are to not only survive, but THRIVE in their life beyond sex trafficking. This is where Two Wings steps in.
Our Mission, Our Dream
At Two Wings, we empower survivors of sex trafficking to identify and pursue their dream vocation through mentoring programs, life skills classes and career training workshops, creating the path for a life of financial and physical independence.
Our dedicated volunteers and expert staff are committed to guiding our clients towards the future of their dreams. Our dream is to one day see how these transformed lives will dynamically impact our world for the better.
Two Wings is a 501(c)3 non profit.
Meet Our Expert Staff & Team
Elena Shahnaian, Founder & CEO
Elena was born in the Republic of Georgia, moved to the United States with her family at five years old. Her passion for people was evident from a young age, believing that everyone deserves a chance at their biggest dreams. Elena’s stance is that, no matter what someone’s past has been, it takes just one person to believe in their greatest dreams, some often unrealized for many years.
As Founder of Two Wings, Elena believes strongly in human resilience, promoting confidence through education and custom-fit mentor relationships provided to every client. She holds a BA in Social Work, MBA and MA in Education, and additionally has a background in fundraising and development. The passion felt by Elena is what motivates her to be the key to those big, unapproachable doors that lead to the dreams held by the clients at Two Wings. She considers it a great honor to work among such strong, compassionate and intelligent women, both clients and mentors alike, daily pursuing her calling of matching each individual key to its unique (dream) door.
